The Detroit News reports: Ford worker heads west for new start. Pretty interesting story of one man's Ford buyout experience.
Yes, if all goes as planned, [Doug] Stoll, 59, says he will spend roughly 24 more hours in Dearborn before rising on Jan. 2, hopping into the family's Chevy Blazer with his wife, Lois Yankley, and heading west to a new life in Tucson. There Stoll is scheduled to begin work as a supervisor in the University of Arizona's utilities department, a world away from the turmoil and angst roiling Detroit and the industry that defines it.Well, that doesn't sound so bad. Work at a university, watch the pretty little co-eds walk buy and... Chevy Blazer?" Bwhahahaha!
Yep, Ford having problems and he drives a CHEVY. Chrysler retiree here (retired 1993) and have driven Chrysler products since 1968.
No, blind loyalty is not good. However belief in the product that you build and sell is a good trait to have. Especially when you are trying to promote your products and you don't even drive one.
Ok, I am sitting back and waiting for the lambasting. Thick skinned UAW Autoworker here and I believe everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. NO, I do not tell others NOT to buy foreign or other products. It is thier life and thier money. However I say that you reap what you sow.
