Autoblog reports: More Prius bodystyles on the way. That can't be good news to car makers looking to get into the hybrid game—which is currently quiet until oil companies raise prices again (which will be soon). We don't agree with Autoblog or Mr. Rich in regards to hybrids and diesels:
We'd tend to agree with Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson's synopsis: Why buy an overpriced, ugly, poorly-made Prius when most conventional diesels will return better economy and give you more for your money?Hybrids are about: using less fuel and polluting less and giving less money to oil companies. And it's a statement. A statement that says a hell of a lot about a person, just like a rich white dude buying a Ferrari, a V-10 BMW, or a second wife.
This is a smart move by Toyota, and we look forward to seeing more hybrid body styles. So much so that we hope we can't tell whether a car is a hybrid at all.
That's a snap of a 2006 Toyota Prius. But you already knew that.
The Prius is a big hit with the atheist/secular community. I see lots and lots of atheist, skeptic, Darwin-humanist propaganda on Priuses. Guess the progressive secular movement the ACLU promotes is growing by leaps and bounds! It ought to make Ellen Johnson feel smug?!!!!???

If the Prius focuses on quality performance, efficient fuel usage, and affordability, people will buy it. Safety features, are worth the additional expense when buying a new car but the frills, such as leather seats propotionately puts the car out of the reach of some buyers. Offer both but please do not add frills to make the total package too expensive for the less affluent people who want to be environmentally friendly by buying a Prius.
I agree if sales take off it might mean lower prices over all but I doubt it. I've never heard of cars going down in price on any car lot.

Also, just call these diesel comments what they are: flat-out lies. Nobody's ever been able to come up with a Jetta vs. Prius comparison that was actually valid (didn't rely on the gas tank for the Prius) in which the Prius didn't win, even though the Jetta is MUCH SMALLER.

Ok so the style of the Prius is not eye catching, but it is not all about the looks it is all about being greener and I do not think that many of the Europeans have a problem with some of the hybrid styling’s, it is only when you get to the American market that they have trouble as they do love their big cars, but the time has come for them to start thinking that there are other people on the planet apart from themselves and start to try and make a difference, Be like John Travolta in BE COOL he did not care what he drove around in.
