The Detroit News reports: Foreign cars pass Big 3.
For the first time, U.S. consumers are buying more cars and trucks built by foreign automakers than vehicles made by Detroit's traditional Big Three. This is a big deal. We expect next quarter to be the same, too.
Is it a big deal?

I mean to count the GM, Ford subsidiaries plus the Mercedes group against the parent/american partners is kind of silly when the profits all funnel to one place.
The bigger news is that Honda is catching up to Ford and is really close to Chrysler and Toyota is almost at GM.
Otherwise how can you say its so bad that the Big 3 is getting beat by 4x as many other makers when Land Rover is a Ford company for example.
It's not like just the japanese are beating them. or even the japanese + Koreans.
