Autoblog reports: Honda to make clean diesels. It would be pretty shagalicious if Honda could pull this off, mate. While it's only sorta interesting that Honda is making diesels (which means its not putting all its hybrids in one car... that was supposed to be a take-off the eggs in one basket saying... so sorry it didn't really work), it's more interesting to read the take a Honda engineer had:
Kenichi Nagahiro, the company's chief engine designer and inventor of the celebrated VTEC engine, reportedly disliked diesels because of their smell and the racket they made. When asked to design Honda's first diesel he did so on one condition - that he could design it completely from scratch. We can't imagine a lot of companies have the huevos to totally redesign an old design. We like that.
We have no idea why we tried the whole Brit thing in this post, either. Stupid, barely-working coffee. Oh, that's a pic of the Honda Civic. Why? We because we love you.
