Crap. We're still $30k short. Which is no different than being $40k short, so what's the friggin' point? AutoWeek reports: Cayman on the Cheap. A less-expensive Cayman. What is Porsche thinking? Are people really not buying it because it's too spendy? We went directly to the dealer to find out. Before we could ask any questions, however, Porsche said, "Nein!" in response to our suggestion that we test drive a used Boxster. Or maybe it was because we weren't wearing any pants. In any event, we're still pretty fond of the Boxster since you can get one without a roof. That's a Porsche to us. A fast car that has no top. That you can drive with no pants on. GM is totally missing this market! By the way, huge kudos to Porsche for making a fast car that still gets over 32 mpg on the highway (we're talking about the Cayman). Over my My Ford Dreams2, Joe is still having trouble getting 32 mpg on his Mazda3. Keep trying, Joe! We're behind you. Unless that pic is of you, of course! Holy crap, man. Get a Gillette!
Yes, we're aware the pic is a Boxster. We couldn't afford a pic of the Cayman.
The Cayman might be fast and economical, but its looks let it down, as well as that price tag.
Can anyone suggest a really fast, economical car with a better image and a better price tag?

No Bob, that pic wasn't me and it's gone now. I'm getting about 24 mpg around town, but once I get over the novelty of a semi sporty car, it should get better. It's rated 26 city and 32 highway. It's still doing twice as good as my Ranger.
