Hyundai Puttin' On The Fancy Pants
AutoWeek reports: Hyundai Hopes New Ad Campaign will Equate Azera with Luxury. Can Hyundai convince people to drop near $30k on one of its cars? We don't know, either, but if any one of its vehicles can, it's the Azera. Good luck to Hyundai, it's uphill from here.
It's A Mighty Fine Line Between Love And Hate
AutoWeek reports: GM is Among Both Most and Least Trusted Firms in US. Man, our head is spinning over this one! How can GM be both most trusted and least trusted in the same survey? We hate surveys for this very reason.
Sticky
The Detroit News reports: Ford parking edict spreads across U.S. No parking here, meng. Unless you got a Ford. What is a Ford, though?
"Ford is serious," said Jim Stoufer, the local's president. "We support buying Ford products. It's our livelihood. It's going to be a fight for survival."Oh, OK. Ford products, gotcha. Surely I can park my Land Rover or Volvo in the lot, since, you know, Ford owns both companies.
However, he said the union would like to see the ban applied to all foreign-made vehicles, including foreign brands owned by Ford such as Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo. Since Ford owns controlling interest in Japan's Mazda Motor Co., its vehicles also are exempt at most facilities.Oh. So if these yahoos have their way, we can't park our anything but Ford in the lot. Can we park our Crown Victoria there? It's built in Canada. That shouldn't count as American-made. How about the Ford Fusion? That's made in Mexico. How about the Focus? It's a mixed breed, so what the hell happens when it's built in the U.S. and Mexico? Look, we understand where the Union is coming from, but as these companies turn to more and more countries to build its vehicles, it's going to get quite confusing as to who to hate. So stop hating! Love man, it's all about love. Now where's Claire? We need a hug."The union's stance is union-made, American-made," Stoufer said, noting that only American-made cars and trucks can park at the union hall. "We don't want to tell our members they can't buy another vehicle that's made by the UAW."
2010 Camaro To Compete With 2005 Mustang
Jalopnik reports: Edmunds: New Chevrolet Camaro Coming 2010.Zzzzzzzzz. So we wait years and years until the Pony Car Wars have come and gone. Although, it's so far out, maybe by the time the Camaro is out it'll be time for another round of Pony Car Wars: Revenge Of The Small Block. Ford, I am your father!
OK then Do they allow people who still own a few Ford Pintos to park there? How about an Edsel??

Ford has every right to control the parking spaces in their own property. My company tells us how we are supposed to dress, what types of shoes we can wear and certainly no competitor's products anywhere near. Go work at Yahoo and show up with a Google t-shirt every day, let see how long you have a job if you refuse to change it.
