LATE BREAKING NEWS: We've added a Review Round of the 2006 Volkswagen Passat! Check it!
VW's added a lot of fun stuff to the '06 Passat. So much so that they're blabbing about it already. Check out the details for yourself.
We've been big fans of the Passat for some time now and it sure looks like trickle-down technology is at play here -- this Passat is grabbing some goodies from the (soon-to-be discontinued, we bet) Phaeton. Seems like the W8 Passat is history, too (which is just as well because it sold very poorly).
My family just bought a brand new 06 Passat i we all ove it! The passat as so many features that would otherwise be standard in the other worldclass markets such as Toyta, Nissan, Chrysler, ect. This car is amazing and we will kepp on buying passats in the future.

We've just purchased our third Passat, a 2006 2.0T. This is one very impressive automobile. It's larger, but just as nimble as our previous Passats. More power, greater refinement in terms of engineering extras, and still very reasonably priced. Our 2.0T came with the luxery package (leather, monsoon stereo, satellite radio, etc) and still listed just above $28K.
This car is (IMHO) head and shoulders above the competition. If you want to be bored to death driving a Toyota or Nissan just to save a thousand bucks please...... be my guest.

I think the car looks very very good BUT the price volkswagen is trying to add on all their cars isnt. A passat right now is just $22K for a base model when this comes out its suppose to be around 28K for a FOUR clyinder engine and stuff so i dont think volkswagen can expect as much sales a year as they do the value packed one they have now
