We think it's safe to say that gas just isn't getting back to where it used to be. That is, affordable. So, the best we can all do is try to pay as little as possible. And use less.
But, first, this U.S. government web site tell how much people are paying around the country: U.S. Retail Gasoline Prices
Okay, now here's where to find cheap gas:
GasPriceWatch: just enter your zip and boom, instant prices: Gas Price Watch
GasBuddy: this site includes Canada, too: Gas Buddy
New York State residents can go here as well for: New York State gas prices
Both of these sites depend on readers to help out by letting the site know where the cheapest gas is, so make sure to let both sites know where the cheapest gas is in your area.
What was gas when you started driving? It was around 75 cents a gallon in 1987 when our team got behind the wheel and even then we knew it was cheap.
When we first started this page, we started with: "Holy crap! $2 a gallon? It's approaching the price of milk fer cryin' out loud! Okay, while we can't lower the prices for you (all them suckers with Hummers would snatch it all up anyway), we can help you locate the cheapest fuel in your area. Use these web sites to find some cheap gas. But, remember, if you can use public transportation, walk or even ride a bike -- well, it's certainly not the worst idea (even when gas is cheap)." Aww, how quaint. We long for the days of <$2/gallon. Oh, well.

75 cents a gallon? When i started driving, it was around year 2000, gasoline here in the Philippines was less than 20 pesos a liter, thats around 50 cents in US dollars, and boy with that kind of pricing I could go anywhere. But now i only commute, a lot cheaper, a liter of gas here cost around a dollar in the US now. Couldn't afford to drive around everyday anymore. And maybe its true that it will never be as cheap as before, so, I guess that we just have to hope on the future cars that car makers are creating now. Those kind of cars with hybrid engines or don't rely on gasoline to run sort of type.
