There's nothing worse than an article with a bias (right, right, like most of ours, yadda yadda yadda) but lots of people are used to it. Especially us. But the blatant bias in this one from The Christian Science Monitor caught us by surprise.
Now part of their article, New cars are getting too expensive to fix is correct: new cars are expensive to fix. But the article totally glosses over the fact that, while new cars contain a lot of expensive electronics, they are a lot safer, too.
Even the lead paragraph takes for granted the teen (who rolled his dad's new BMW) walked away from the wreck. He walked away. No medical bills, no long-term rehabilition, nothin'. So all that's left is for good ol' dad to mosey on down to the BMW dealer and get himself a brand new set of wheels.
But you might want to teach junior about the laws of physics there Dad. Not even technology, no matter how expensive, can change those rules.
