I wasn't sure what this headline should say:
Only three Hondas?
Japanese dominate Consumer Reports best
or
Way to go, Ford!
Anyway, yes, Consumer Reports announced their best cars for 2004. There aren't any real surprises on the list (who didn't know the Accord was the best family car around?). And of course the Japanese filled seven of the ten slots.
The Ford Focus proved to be the greatest achievement: it was listed twice, the only car to do so. What's even better was that Consumer Reports previously refused to rank the Focus so highly because of reliability problems. So, not only did Ford fix the problems of the past, they are still making a great small car and one of the best 'fun cars to drive.' So I'll give this one to Ford. "Way to go, Ford!"
