Below is the 2004 Monte Carlo SS. A few years ago I had the privilege of overhearing some GM execs talking about it:
GM Exec #1: Hey, we should bring back the SS!
GM Exec #2: The slippery slope?
GM Exec #1: No!
GM Exec #2: The salty sugar cone?
GM Exec #1: Eww, no.
GM Exec #2: Silly Shenanigans?
GM Exec #1: NO!
GM Exec #2: The...
GM Exec #1: Noooooo! The Super Sport!
GM Exec #2: Yawn.
GM Exec #1: The Super Sport, remember?
GM Exec #2: I wasn't born yet.
GM Exec #1: Anyway, we should bring it back.
GM Exec #2: With a modern engine, ergonomic interior with improved engineering?!
GM Exec #1: Yes! Well, except for those last three. I envision using our existing parts bin but, get this, making the whole thing look old and fat.
GM Exec #2: Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!
2004 Monte Carlo SS
The reason most hate the monte carlo is that its steering away from the commercialized look of the "other" cars. its more of a sedan/sport/muscle car, trust me, the engine in that thing rips.

hideous. Just like the rest of GM's cars. I could swear they have kids with crayons as their designers.
