why should hummer have never existed, i am sure their are millions of people that would disagree with you. Hummers are their own niche and some people love and hate them no more to it.

Jocelyn Plourde

In my opinion, Hummer should never have existed. Taking a military vehicle and turning it into a road car is ridiculous... and besides, some of the later Hummers were just rebadged Chevy SUVs with big tires and some chrome.

Which brings me to my next point: If GM can't properly define there various brands, those brands shouldn't exist. For example, what is the difference between a Sunfire and a Cavalier (Pursuit and Colbalt, I believe they are now called)? The Aveo and the Wave? Chrysler/Dodge is having the same problem.

If I'm not mistaken, Pontiac is supposed to be the "sportier" brand... yet the Corvette is a Chevy. There were rumours that Pontiac was going to offer only RWD vehicles. That would warrant a separate brand. Other wise, yeah, axe it.
