Forded It All Up

Parody of Ford logoWhen we look at Ford's track record, we simply have no reason to believe any of this: The Detroit News reports: Ford has big dreams for Lincoln.

Leftlane News reports: Ford won’t “Crown Vic” the Explorer. If LLN is amused by Ford using "Crown Vic" as a verb, wait until the whole business world starts using "Ford" as a verb. As in: "Don't go out of business like Ford did. Boy, them dudes at Ford really fouled it all up by ignoring their products for years at a time. Remember the Lincoln LS? Right! No one does! Ha!" Or maybe we can just all use it this way, "Man, those dudes at Ford really fouled it all up by ign..." Well, you get the idea.

Based on what we've read so far, we are not at all impressed with Ford's Way Forward or whatever the hell they're calling it now. If Ford doesn't seriously turn it around by coming out with fresher products (and for the record, Ford can not keep pointing to the Fusion as the "see we're turning it around" product), refining those fresher products, and stellar reliability we think Ford's U.S. operations will force the company into major, major financial trouble (we hesitate to say anything like bankruptcy because, in all honesty, that's serious talk and we don't do that around here). But if we ran our lives like Ford does its business, we'd be fat and bald. ... Dammit!

See? We specifically didn't use Ford as a verb in that part where we said we would! That's why it's funny. One can argue, however, that if you explain the humor, perhaps it wasn't funny in the first place. But we call those kind of people "humor stompers," and no one likes a humor stomper.

niiice blog!! congratulations

I can then assume that being fat and baldING represents running your life better than fat and bald? :)

I don't get this. It took how long for Toyota and Honda and Hyundai how many years to "turn around"? Why aren't folks not willing to give Ford the same benefit? Yeah, there have been those decades of broken promises but even the critics admit the company may be on to something with the Fusion/Milan/Zephyr (MKZ) trio. And what about Volvo, Land Rover, Aston Martin, and even Jaguar? They're owned and-more importantly-funded by Ford. Why don't critics count them on new product rollouts?

(By the way, excellent post if you provoke me to write more than a sentence :) )

Ford needs to fill the void they've left behind in the 2-door Mark series and produce a car similiar to the Cadillac XLR. I now they can come up with an A** kicking car if only they realize that the new model alone would generate traffic to their showrooms.

I just can't understand why it hasn't been done yet.
