I thought automobile a/c hasn't been using freon since about the early 90's, being replaced by R134a or R12. I'm no a/c enthusiast, so I might be interpreting that incorrectly.
However, I'd think that this could also be applied to home air conditioners, too. Both are HUGE markets. Methinks these boys will be rich, unless plundered by some mega corporate lawyers.
